Sacramento California – The Second Largest City in California

The capital of California is sunny Sacramento. The city is located along the Sacramento River and Central Valley. Sacramento is also the second largest city in the state of California. In 2007, it was estimated that the population for Sacramento was of 460,242. Time magazine recognized the city to be one of America's most integrated cities in the nation.

Sacramento is distinguished by cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The city usually has a high humidity during winter yet low during summer. The rain season usually occurs during the end of April. The fog can get extremely dense during December and January. Overall, the city is characterized by a Mediterranean climate.

Summer Fun Programs and Live Theatre- In Metropolitan Sacramento, CA

There are several theatre venues in the city of Sacramento yet one stands above the rest. The venue is known as the Sacramento Convention Center Complex. During the fall, winter, and spring seasons the theatre brings bus and truck tours to witness the Broadway Sacramento that consists of performers and artists from New York to Los Angeles. Some of the other performing arts that take place in the complex are the Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sacramento Opera.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission is an organization dedicated in providing several art programs for the city. Some of the programs include Art in Public Places, Arts Education, Grants and Cultural Programs, Poet Laureate Program, Arts Stabilization Programs and Other Resources. One of the main programs that occur every second Saturday of each month is the Sacramento Second Saturday Art Walk in which local art galleries stay open into the late evenings in order to create a unique viewing and environment of original art.
